Cable, famous for his reluctant friendship with Deadpool, his futuristic, cybernetic enhancements, and his intimidatingly huge muscles, will finally make his way to the big screen in Deadpool 2. He’ll be portrayed by Josh Brolin (No Country for Old Men, W.), and Wade Wilson and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has been hyping the hell out of him on social media for the past few days.
Reynolds released a new photo of Brolin on Tuesday, with the Cable actor only halfway into character this time around as he posed with an adorable Deadpool cosplayer.
Brolin’s terrifyingly swol arms — that could probably crush a man’s skull with ease at this point — have been on display for a while as he’s worked on getting into character. But this is the first time fans have been able to see him doing something outside of working out.
Also, it’s just really stinkin’ cute. Look how happy that little Deadpool cosplayer is! Maybe he’ll make an appearance in the sequel a la Peter Parker in Iron Man 2, which would make sense when taking into account Deadpool’s ongoing obsession with Spider-Man in Marvel’s comics.
Deadpool 2 will premiere in theaters on June 1, 2018.
