'Justice League' Comic-Con Trailer Teases Green Lantern, Superman's Return

The age of heroes has come. On Saturday of this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. unveiled a whopping FOUR-MINUTE trailer for Justice League, formerly directed by Zack Snyder (extensive reshoots were overseen by Joss Whedon). Loaded with Easter eggs, references to the DC Universe, and some refreshing humor, DC fans may be in for the ride of a lifetime in Justice League.

A continuation of the DC Extended Universe which began with 2013’s Man of Steel, Justice League takes place after the death of Superman (Henry Cavill) in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. A new threat emerges in the form of Steppenwolf, one of the New Gods, who seeks Earth for his own means. Outnumbered and outgunned, Batman (Ben Affleck, who isn’t going anywhere) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) team up to recruit the Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), and the King of Atlantis, Aquaman (Jason Mamoa) to give Earth a fighting chance.

With some oblique references to the Green Lantern Corps., the more-than-likely return of Superman, and other corners of the DC Universe, the trailer for Justice League looks like an all-out party for comic book fans who have always been sort of jealous at the success of Marvel.

Justice League will be released in theaters on November 17.
