'Star Wars' Is Bringing Back Classic Speeders for 'Han Solo'

Lucasfilm

Luke Skywalker had to sell his landspeeder to board the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: A New Hope. There’s a good chance Han Solo might have to lose his own landspeeder before doing the same, as recent photos and on-set video of the Han Solo spin-off film show Han hanging out in his speeder.

Following last week’s stream of photos from the Han Solo spin-off, which revealed Han’s (Alden Ehrenreich) haircut, jacket, and speeder, a fan captured an on-set video of Han’s speeder being pulled around by a decked-out pickup truck. The video, originally posted to popular fansite Making Star Wars, features Han’s speeder, uh, speeding through some smoke on set at Fawley Power Station in Southampton, England.

While little is still known about the Han Solo film (it doesn’t even have an official name yet), it seems this scene in the film will be pretty bare bones as far as characters go. There’s no hint of Chewbacca in the Corvette-esque speeder, though we assume Han’s in there. It’s his whip after all — and Han’s never been one to let other people drive.

The Han Solo standalone film is expected to premiere in theaters on May 25, 2018.
