Fans of Lara Croft’s adventures will finally get the chance to follow her through yet another journey, this time in search of her father. And, now, the world finally has an idea of what actress Alicia Vikander’s version of Lara will look like throughout the upcoming 2018 reboot of Tomb Raider.

Vikander (The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) will star as Lara alongside Daniel Wu (Into the Badlands) and Dominic West (The Wire). The film’s director, Roar Uthaug, told GQ that Tomb Raider will be an origin story, and “will introduce Lara as a young woman who hasn’t yet found her way and her place in the world; a young woman with great spirit and potential. We follow her struggles and her journey toward becoming the person she was meant to be and earning the role of Tomb Raider.”

Here’s the film’s official synopsis:

“Lara Croft finds herself searching for her father on an uncharted Chinese island when he goes missing looking for the ancient Dagger of Xian. Lara recruits her father’s old friend Lu Ren to lead her to the island which has disastrous consequences when they find themselves trying to survive.”

The two new photos feature Vikander’s Lara already looking like she’s gone through hell: she’s dirty, sweaty, and looks ready to beat down anyone in her way, whether that’s in the forest or on the beach.
