Vin Diesel is well known for being a huge nerd, but now the actor professing a feverish love for Marvel’s Inhumans. During the press tour for xXx: The Return of Xander Cage, Diesel opened up about what he thinks Marvel should do with its Inhumans, which involves keeping it as a film instead of the planned Inhumans TV series for ABC this fall.

“I don’t think Marvel should abandon their opportunity to make a film out of it,” Diesel said in an interview. “I think it could be a huge, huge saga, and if I had more time I would go over to Marvel and have that very conversation.”

Diesel adds it would be “a big mistake” for Marvel to pursue its TV plans for the Inhumans, a race of human beings altered by aliens eons ago, because “it would make such a cool universe.”

Diesel has been a popular choice among fans to play Black Bolt, the silent ruler of the Inhumans who communicates via sign language. But neither Diesel nor Marvel has confirmed how Diesel is involved with Inhumans, if at all. Diesel is already working for Marvel voicing Groot, a sentient tree with a limited vocabulary, in its Guardians of the Galaxy movies. It appears fans like to see Diesel in a very specific way.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, in which Diesel reprises his role as Groot, will be released May 5.
