A recent tweet began with “Happy New Year to all,” from Donald Trump. Okay, that sounds nice enough. But then it continued, “including to my many enemies and those who have fought me and lost so badly they just don’t know what to do.” Oh. Well. That isn’t nice at all. In fact it’s boastful and nasty. He ends it with, “Love!” but at this point that sentiment feels insincere.

So who better to bring this mix of gleeful petulance to life than the Jester of Genocide himself? Mark Hamill has voiced the Joker for multiple decades, and there’s just something about this recording of him reading this tweet in character that makes the hair on the back of our necks stand up.

Trump proclaimed that he was Batman in 2015, but we don’t think he’d be a very good Bruce Wayne. In fact, the Joker seems like a much more fitting analogue for the president-elect. Besides, Hamill voices Trump the way many people probably hear Trump in their heads.
