Watch Stephen Colbert Shove Batman Into Every Christmas Carol

The Late Show host Stephen Colbert has long peppered his comedy career with reminders that he’s the ultimate geek on television. This week, Colbert and his band leader Jon Batiste decided to cram Batman references into every popular Christmas carol they could think of, resulting in rhymes like “peace on earth, and Joker’s wild, Robin is some random child.”

After putzing around with a couple parody songs, the Late Night crew asks its audience to stand at attention for a complete list of actors who have played Batman, sung to the tune of Angels We Have Heard On High. They even manage to stick Will Arnett (The Lego Batman Movie) in the list alongside George Clooney (whose name is sung to the tune of Gloria!), but they ignore all the animated voice talents, including Kevin Conroy (Batman: The Animated Series) and Bruce Greenwood (Young Justice).

Fans took to the comment section on YouTube to exclaim their grief that Conroy was ignored, and one created their own Conroy carol: “Oh K. Conroy, Oh K. Conroy, I hear your voice when I read comics.” Another added, “Merry Batmas,” which is apparently now a holiday we all have to be aware of.

The next time you’ll see Batman, it will be in The Lego Batman Movie on February 10.
