Venom Will Infect a Ton of Marvel Characters Next Year

Not even the All-New Wolverine herself, Laura Kinney, is safe when the new spree of variant covers, “Venom Madness,” infects the Marvel universe in March 2017. The variant programming kicks off in Venom #5 with a fight between Venom and Spider-Man. But it’s contagious, and will spread through as many as 26 actively running series, offering us a look at all sorts of heroes getting taken over by the sinister black symbiote.

We saw a version of Deadpool’s flirtation with the Venom symbiote a few months back where he almost redeemed the symbiote.

But now, you can “witness the Avengers, Black Panther, Deadpool, the X-Men and more as they bond with the symbiote.” They run the gamut of fun and freaky — like The Totally Awesome Hulk or The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl — all the way to horrifyingly potent — like Doctor Strange or Spider-Gwen. Still others are a bit jarring to see, like gallant Nazi Steve Rogers being taken over by the symbiote. Take a look at some of our favorites:

As always, Amadeus Cho just seems to be having a fun time.

Noooo! Not Captain America Steve Rogers! Even his shield is venomified.

The All-New Wolverine Laura Kinney is looking like a Xenomorph with the symbiote.

The beloved Spider-Gwen is one of the most jarring, albeit fitting to see.

Not even Squirrel Girl’s trusty Tippy Toe can escape the black goo.

Even the Champions are getting in on the action.

Marvel’s Venom comics will be released throughout March 2017.
