MIT Figured Out How to 3D Print Glass and It's Stunning

The smart people at MIT figured out how to 3D print glass, and the world is a more beautiful place.

Many researchers and departments collaborated on this project, including MIT’s Glass Lab. Students have to enter a competitive lottery to get into the lab, and there’s no school credit for participating. From this video about class, it appears to be basically a glass-blowing class, but nerdier:

If that’s not a reason for smart and artsy high school kids to consider MIT, I don’t know what is.

As far as we know, the first 3D printed glass bong is a technological milestone for another day. Until then, artsy college kids, stay tuned.
