'Avengers Endgame' Leaks: New Footage May Spoil a Major Death

The last time we saw Iron Man he was trapped out in space in the Avengers: Endgame trailer, quickly running out of food and water while working with Nebula on some last-ditch effort to survive. We pretty much assumed he’d make it back to Earth in one piece, but new Endgame footage shown exclusively at Disney’s shareholders meeting this week may reveal that Tony Stark’s fate is still in limbo.

Possible Avengers: Endgame spoilers ahead.

The latest Endgame details come from Twitter user Scott Ladewig, who attended the private Disney event and later shared details about exclusive footage of Star Wars: Episode IX, The Lion King, Aladdin, and Avengers: Endgame. When it comes to the upcoming Marvel movie, it sounds like Disney revealed an entire scene from the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, and it’s a pretty important one featuring a bunch of key characters discussing their plans to locate Thanos and presumably get revenge.

Here’s Ladewig’s full recap:

The Avengers Endgame scene they showed was at Avengers HQ, Captain Marvel saying let’s go kill Thanos. Nebula says she knows where he is. Rocket says biggest energy surge ever seen on Earth when he used the glove, but it was seen again on another planet shortly after.
So that’s where Thanos is retiring to. Quick exchange between CapA, Natasha, Bruce, Rhodey, and CapM. Bruce asks what guarantee the ey have this ends differently. Cap M says they have her this time.
Rhodey asks where she was because they could have used her before. Cap M says a lot of other planets out there need help and they don’t have Avengers like Earth has. Thor gets up from sitting quietly in back, walks up to Cap M, and summons his axe…
Which whizzes right past Cap M (she doesn’t flinch) into his hand and he says “I like this one.” Cut to Milano, everybody buckled in, Cap M in copilot seat.
Rocket asks who hasn’t been to space, Cap A, Rhodey, Natasha raise hands, and Rocket warns them not to puke in his ship and off they go. Cool refection of stars and space stuff on Cap A’s eye as we zoom in on him and they warp out of there.
That’s all I can remember…

This all sounds awesome. The Avengers have re-assembled, and Captain Marvel is mixing it up with Thor and other classic characters. But did you notice anyone missing from the description above? Like a certain genius billionaire playboy philanthropist?

Normally, Iron Man’s absence wouldn’t bother us, since he could still be on that ship out in space, but the fact that Nebula is already on Earth with the other Avengers (at least, according to Ladewig) suggests that something went wrong.

Did Tony Stark die out in space? It’s possible, though that would be a huge bummer.

R.I.P. Iron Man?

Another theory, which we definitely prefer, is that Tony’s just out on some other, equally important mission. The fact that Ant-Man is also missing from this scene suggests the two of them could be traveling back in time to steal an Infinity Stone, which would make it a lot easier for the other Avengers to beat Thanos in the present. Hawkeye/Ronin wasn’t mentioned either. So maybe he’s part of this secret mission too.

With Avengers: Endgame just over a month away, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out, but in the meantime, we’ll keep breaking down every bit of new information as it comes out.

Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26.
