'Fortnite' Ice Puck: Here's Where to Slide One 150m in a Single Throw
One might think that getting maximum distance with a hockey puck would be easiest on some kind of rink or sheet of ice, but in the world of Fortnite: Battle Royale, the best thing to do is chuck that puck right off a mountain.
Fortnite Season 7, Week 6 began Thursday morning, and one of the most surprisingly difficult challenges requires players to “slide an ice puck over 150m in a single throw.” That’s only possible once players reach tier 28 of the battle pass, which is when the Ice Puck is unlocked as a toy. Similar to other toys, activating it on the emote menu causes the player to toss a physical object.
Unlike a real-world hockey puck, this one’s coated in a thin sheet of ice, so it’ll naturally slide pretty far on its own. But even when tossed onto the edge of the frozen lake at the location formerly known as Greasy Grove, there are enough pockets of water and snow that could cause it to stop.
Instead, the best place to do this is on the highest mountain: Polar Peak.
Specifically, players want to land on the top- and northern-most edge of the ramparts. From there, all players need to do is chuck an Ice Puck north towards the frozen lake. It may take a few moments to register, but the puck should bounce of a hill and credit the player for the full distance. Using this method, it’s very easy to get distance close to 300m — more than enough for these purposes.
Another Week 6 challenge requires players to visit Polar Peak and Tilted Towers in a single match, so if players can survive all of the enemies that’ll probably be at Polar Peak, then immediately heading northeast towards Tilted is the best course of action.
The in-game countdown says that Fortnite Season 7 doesn’t end until February 27, 2019. So players have plenty of time to complete this and other challenges before Season 8 is upon us, bringing all sorts of new map changes and challenges with it.
