'Wreck-It Ralph 2' Post-Credits Scene: Worth Staying After the Movie?
Here's what you need to know.
by Jake KleinmanRalph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is a Disney movie and it’s also a sequel, so it’s gotta have a post-credits scene or two, right? Short answer: yes. Slightly longer answer: only the first after-credits video is actually worth watching.
Warning: Spoilers for the Wreck-It Ralph 2 post-credits scenes below.
Wreck-It Ralph 2 features two post-credits scenes: one midway through and a second at the very end. Neither is very important to the plot, the first one is pretty entertaining.
The mid-credits scene references a clip from the original trailer (embedded up top) where Ralph drops in on a mobile game where you feed pancakes and milkshakes to cartoon animals. That scene isn’t actually in the movie, and the post-credits video begins by mentioning just that.
From the backseat of a car, a kid complains that the scene from the trailer never appeared in Wreck-It Ralph 2. Then we see them play the game in question. Suddenly, Ralph unexpectedly shows up inside the mobile game and overfeeds one of the animals until it explodes (we assume, that part happens offscreen).
Once that’s over the credits will resume, but it’s safe to get out of your seat and leave at this point. If you do stick around, you’ll be treated to a fakeout teaser for Frozen 2 which quickly becomes Ralph singing the opening lines of “Never Gonna Give You Up.”
That’s right, Disney just rickrolled all of us, and if you ignored our warning and stuck around anyway then you probably deserved it.
Wreck-It Ralph 2 is in theaters now.
