Neil deGrasse Tyson's Head Is Now Literally a Cookie

Take a bite out of Neil.

You might say Neil deGrasse Tyson enjoys taking a bite out of the internet, with his tweets that pour cold water over dumb, popular ideas. And now, finally, you can take a bite out of Neil.

To promote the astrophysicist’s upcoming season of Startalk, his podcast-turned-talk show, the Nation Geographic channel distributed an untold number of cookies with his likeness.

Journalists receive all sorts of inventive publicity materials literally every day, but there is something about receiving Neil deGrasse Tyson’s face on a baked good. It gives one pause as it looks back at you.

Neil deGrasse Tyson's head, as a cookie.

The unblinking eyes.

The arched eyebrows.

The facial expression that implies he just said something that is in equal measure, obvious, true, and worst of all, appropriate.

The intensity of it all might be too much.

Go ahead, eat Neil deGrasse Tyson’s face.

Eat it.

It's come to this.

StarTalk with Neil deGrasse Tyson returns for a fifth season on Monday, November 12, at 11 p.m. Eastern on the National Geographic channel. Guests this season include the late chef and media personality Anthony Bourdain; Joe Rogan; Simon Helberg & Bill Prady of the Big Bang Theory, Bill Nye, Weird Al Yankovic, and novelist Patricia Cornwell, among others.
