Chances are if you enjoy a little bit of pornography from time to time, you’re not watching for the plot. However, the trailer for the Solo: A Star Wars Story porn parody is safe for work. In lieu of graphic, titillating sex between consenting professionals, the plot is all we have to go on. So, I have some questions about who is supposed to be who in this extremely loose take on the Star Wars mythos.
The main character of Hand Solo: A DP XXX Parody is a curly-haired spoof of Han, but with a name like “Hand Solo,” you bet your ass there’s a masturbation joke in the trailer. The guy in the Boba Fett armor is Choda Fett, natch. The Chewbacca doppelganger, Screwbacca, is a pretty straightforward double on account of being the big hairy one. But, after that, it’s a little hard to tell who anybody is based on.
There’s one woman, identified as “Nomi,” who wears Han’s classic white shirt and vest outfit from the original trilogy, but she’s not the Han Solo stand-in, Hand Solo is. So, who is she? Then there’s “Raina,” who wears yellow, making her seem like maybe she’s a white, gender-swapped Lando Calrissian expy, but she uses the Force and has a lightsaber, so probably not?
Digital Playground Producer Danny D told Comic Book that he and the crew got pretty creative when it came to making Hand Solo, and it shows.
“When we started producing Hand Solo, I decided to build all of the sets in our studio, which allowed us a lot more creative freedom with set design and it really complements the film,” he said.
One wonders, though, what Hand Solo would’ve looked like if Danny D had been fired and Ron Howard brought on to finish shooting the film’s climaxes — ahem — climax.
