'Avengers: Infinity War' Super Bowl Trailer Sends Spider-Man to Space

The long-awaited superhero team-up film Avengers: Infinity War got a new trailer at the Super Bowl, and while it doesn’t offer much more in the way of what the plot will be aside from Thanos’s invasion, it does include several new exciting looks at the many Marvel heroes who will rise to battle the purple alien menace.

The trailer, which premiered towards the end of the Eagles and Patriots game on Sunday night, gave almost every MCU hero a moment in the spotlight, including glimpses of Teen Groot, Blonde Black Widow, Human Vision, New Shield Captain America, and a de-iced Bucky Barnes.

Following the events of Captain America: Civil War, the Avengers are still a fractured group, which makes the arrival of intergalactic villain Thanos a huge problem. However, there’s a scene that features Vision alongside Black Widow and Captain America, which is a good sign since they were on opposite sides by the end of Civil War.

Other highlights in the trailer include Peter Parker getting a grave pep talk from Iron Man, standing alongside Dr. Strange, and pulling off his Spider-Man mask while clinging to the side of a giant alien device that appears to be very, very high in the air. We also see Captain America’s new Wakandan shield, which is more of a gauntlet, really, and Nebula, who might just have the biggest bone to pick with Thanos out of everyone.

We’ll see how everyone comes together this summer, after Black Panther finishes its theatrical run.

Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters on May 4, 2018.
