Watch Stranger Things' Winona Ryder Get Stressed Out And Say, "MY BOY" A Lot
It's just as dramatic as you'd expect.
The kids may be adorable and precocious, and Police Chief Hopper may be badass and swarthy, but it’s Joyce Byers (played by Winona Ryder at a constant emotional 10) who brings the heart to the story of Stranger Things. She swings for the fences in almost every scene in both seasons, and we’ve put together a quick highlight reel of her greatest hits to commemorate the effort.
In a behind-the-scenes interview, Ryder revealed that she is allergic to the spray that many actors use to help them cry on cue take after take. To continue the baseball metaphor, she hit some serious Barry Bonds numbers without the benefit of any performance-enhancing drugs.
