New 'Destiny 2' Trailer Features More Breakdancing, Fewer Bullets

Sony

You might think that shooting your enemies is the best way to go about winning in the recently released Destiny 2, but a new live-action trailer for the game shows us that there’s a far better way for Guardians to do battle: via dance-off.

On Tuesday, Playstation Japan uploaded the trailer, titled “Freestyle Playground,” to its YouTube page. The spot features a lot of dancing, and a surprisingly low number of bullets. Two Guardians camping on a hill take out an enemy below them, before noticing another Guardian jamming all alone. Confused, they go down to see what’s going on, and end up getting drawn into a fierce dance battle where all manner of sick, synchronized dance moves take place. Because, why not?

The trailer ends with in-game Guardians performing some of the moves the dancers were doing, reminding us that there’s a reason why a Destiny 2 trailer would be all about dance, other than it simply being a fun idea.

Via Kotaku, 4Gamer noted that a number of well-known dancers feature in the video, performing routines created by famed Japanese choreographers Furitsuke Kagyou Air:man.

Destiny 2’s live-action trailers have emphasized humor and personality, positioning it as more than just another first-person shooter. While PC gamers will have to wait to find out if that’s the case, console players are hopefully learning what makes the game special right now, as it’s out on Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

Destiny 2 is available now for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One. PC users will have to wait until October 24 to get the game.
