Hela Is Bored by Thor's Heroes in International 'Ragnarok' Poster

Marvel Japan

While Thor is the god of thunder, Hela is the goddess of death, and she couldn’t care less about Thor and his allies in the new Thor: Ragnarok international poster from Japan.

Below the looming threat that is Hela, goddess of the Asgardian underworld, stands Thor (Chris Hemsworth) with his newly acquired swords. He gazes heroically off into the distance, backed by Bruce Banner’s Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Heimdall (Idris Elba), King Odin (Anthony Hopkins), and the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum).

And despite the fearsome team Thor has assembled, Hela couldn’t look more bored. As she details in the newest trailer for Ragnarok, which premiered at 2017’s San Diego Comic-Con, “I’m not a queen or a monster; I’m the goddess of death.”

Taking that into account, her boredom makes sense. If Ragnarok follows Marvel’s comics at all, then that means Hela’s been locked away as punishment for a few millennia before someone (Loki) makes a mistake and sets her free. So, while she might be having fun, she’s got a lot of pent-up power to unleash against Thor’s epic team.
