Ryan Reynolds doesn’t want us to forget about Cable’s appearance in the upcoming Deadpool 2 — but he doesn’t want to tell us anything about it either.
On Thursday the actor posted a photo of himself hanging out in nature below a sign that read “Cable Pool.” “Went for a hike and saw this,” Reynolds wrote. “It’s a sign. It’s also a sign. #Cable #Deadpool2.” Yup, lots to go on here.
The actor has been back in his hometown of Vancouver, Canada shooting the latest instalment in the Deadpool franchise. The Cable Pool bridge overlooks some watery nature north of Vancouver near the Capilano River.
We’ve gotten some more concrete hints about Cable the character via Josh Brolin’s Instagram account, where he showed off the beginning of a cyborg facial transformation in the makeup room. A time-travelling mutant, Cable possesses telepathic and telekinetic powers, as well as a cybernetic arm and a crazy, machine-made eye. However much we know about him as a character, little has been revealed about his relationship to Deadpool in the plot of the upcoming film.
Deadpool 2 will premiere in theaters on June 1, 2018. Ryan Renyolds will probably post a lot more Instagram photos before them. Some of them will be worth unpacking, presumably.
