'Master of None' Got a Star-Studded Season 2 Trailer

How on Earth did Dev get invited to a party at John Legend's house?

Netflix

After a critically acclaimed first season, Master of None finally unveiled a Season 2 trailer that promises an equally thoughtful (though significantly more star-studded) season ahead. Picking up in Italy, Season 2 will show fans how Dev (Aziz Ansari) fared on his own personal Eat, Pray, Love trip, minus the praying and the loving. Can he make pasta from scratch now? Does he have professional ambitions instead of a series of gigs? Has being honest with his parents about his life changed the way he forms relationships with women?

The craziest question the trailer invites, however, is how the hell did Dev get invited to John Legend’s party? Chrissy Teigen’s husband (and Grammy winner) isn’t the only powerhouse to join the cast in Season 2. There’s also a peak auntie cameo by Angela Bassett, who plays Denise’s mom (Lena Waithe), and Bobby Cannavale, who will most definitely showcase his Broadway skills at some point.

But all of these stars pale in comparison to the most important cameo featured in the Season 2 trailer: the return of Ansari’s parents, Shoukath and Fatima. They’ll undoubtedly have a lot to say about Dev’s trip, job hunt, and the Desi girl (played by The Good Place’s Tiya Sircar) that Dev goes on a date with in the trailer.

Master of None premiers May 12, 2018 on Netflix.
