'Rogue One' Easter Egg Hints Cassian Andor Could Appear on 'Rebels'

Disney

Rogue One, already connects with the ongoing Star Wars TV show, Rebels, in a lot of ways — ships from Rebels appeared in Rogue One, and characters from the movie are going to pop up in the next season. Turns out, there might still be more connections out there. Intrepid fans spotted a very obscure easter egg that suggests that one of Rogue One’s dreamy protagonists, the hard-boiled Captain Cassian Andor — could appear on TV.

As ScreenCrush notes, the clue potentially tying Cassian to Rebels didn’t make the final cut of the movie, but was featured in a supplementary guide book, Star Wars: Rogue One: The Ultimate Visual Guide. The section on Cassian lists some of his “Operational Aliases,” and one of them is “FULCRUM,” a “Recruitment agent in Albarrio sector.”

That pseudonym, “Fulcrum,” is an alias that several big-name rebel informants and agents have used. In the show, Anakin Skywalker’s former Padawan Ahsoka Tano was the original Fulcrum, and Agent Kallus was another.

If Cassian is — or was — a Fulcrum, it could mean that he’ll appear in Rebels, though he might not go by his real name if that’s the case. (He’s been in the Rebel Alliance since he was six, so there’s plenty of flexibility in the timeline.)

Even if Cassian doesn’t make the jump to TV, the easter egg is still a nice little nod to Rebels, and shows that the folks at Marvel seem to know what they’re doing as they continue to make the Star Wars galaxy into an expanded universe.
