The Dark Lord of the Sith may be at his most hardcore and unforgiving in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. On Saturday, the film had its first proper screening, and though full reviews won’t come out until Tuesday, there are some tidbits to whet the appetites of those hoping for more Darth Vader.

Possible mild spoilers for Rogue One ahead.

According to EW’s Anthony Breznican, the film “delivers one moment of pure horror” involving Darth Vader, and casts the fallen Jedi Knight in a “predatory” light. With what we know about Darth Vader’s biography, this all checks. Rogue One might be a Star Wars prequel happening right before the classic film — A New Hope — but, from a certain point of view, it’s also a direct sequel to Revenge of the Sith.

At the end of that film, Darth Vader had essentially just been created, and he was probably ready to work out all of his anger issues, with the Dark side, his lightsaber, and heavy breathing.

The Darth awakens.

As much as various sources have insisted that Rogue One is not about the Skywalker family, Vader’s presence proves nothing could be further from the truth.

Exactly what form Vader’s act of “horror” will take remains to be seen. But, it wouldn’t be a Star Wars movie if Darth Vader wasn’t scaring the pants off of everyone.

Rogue One opens this Friday, December 16.
