Before he became one of the most polarizing president-elects in history, Donald Trump was just a business tycoon. Using his “small loan of 1 million dollars” gifted to him by his father, Donald Trump has built an empire of hotels, casinos, office towers, and properties. He is listed by Forbes as the 324th wealthiest person in the world, and 113th in the United States. But despite there being a considerable number of people wealthier than him, Donald Trump is one of the most well-known names in the business world. As such, there has been a number of songs dedicated to the now president-elect. Here are nine songs about Trump that came out before he was elected.

1. The Time - “Donald Trump (Black Version)” (1990)

Believe it or not, this song was written by Prince for the Minneapolis funk group, The Time. It is a love ballad about a romance with a money hungry woman. It is hilarious to listen to in current day. Who would have thought that Donald Trump and a love ballad would go hand in hand?

2. Mac Miller - “Donald Trump” (2011)

Released as an official single off of Mac Miller’s Best Day Ever mixtape, “Donald Trump” was a hit when it first came out. Donald Trump even endorsed the song himself, dubbing Mac Miller “the new Eminem”. Since then, the two have not seen eye to eye. Trump demanded royalties for Mac Miller’s use of his name in the song. Earlier this year, Mac Miller went on The Nightly Show With Larry Wilmore to announce how much he hates Donald Trump.

3. Young Jeezy feat. Birdman - “Trump” (2011)

Sad to say that the rapper that made the great “My President” song about President Obama’s election also has a record about the now president-elect Trump. He made some headlines in October when he compared Donald Trump to Tupac.

4. Jerry James - “Donald Trump Walk” (2013)

The song was featured on the popular Saints Row IV. If you’re looking for a song to celebrate the Donald Trump victory, this might be the best go-to option. It’s a party song about throwing money and dropping bottles. Amazingly Saints Row IV is basically an open world shooter where you can basically do whatever you want, which looks like the path that America is heading on.

5. Young Thug feat. DK - “Donald Trump” (2014)

Yes, the song is quite bad. Almost as bad as Donald Trump naming white nationalist, Steve Bannon, as his chief strategist and senior adviser.

6. Rae Sremmurd - “Up Like Trump” (2015)

Before Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” became the song for the Mannequin Challenge, they put out this gem about having a lot of money, like Donald Trump. One lyric of the song even reads, “Now you done fucked up!” Yes, we did.

7. YG & Nipsey Hussle - “FDT (Fuck Donald Trump)” (2016)

Perhaps the most popular song on this list, “FDT,” is a protest song made about Donald Trump when he was only just a presidential candidate. The song was so brash and forward that the Secret Service even reached out to YG about the record. The name of his tour is the “Fuck Donald Trump Tour”, which you can still buy tickets for if you’re interested in attending.

8. JPEGMAFIA x Freaky - “I Might Vote 4 Donald Trump” (2016)

Do not take the title of this song at face value. It is actually a protest song about the presidential election. In a statement released with the song, JPEGMAFIA said, “It shouldn’t even be legal to vote for someone like Donald Trump.” And yet, it happened.

9. Emilio Rojas - I Hate Donald Trump (2016)

Emilio Rojas is probably the most outwardly political person on this list, and this song is no exception. In this song, he rips Donald Trump a new one, and calls him out on all of his backward political statements and views. He even admits that people will probably vote for him. Ain’t that an understatement.
