Emiliano's research interests include privacy, security, and applied cryptography. He received the Dean's Fellowship and the Distinguished Dissertation Fellowship from UC Irvine and the Excellency Award from PARC's Computer Science Lab. In 2013 and 2014, he co-chaired the Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS).
