'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' Comic Coming Soon

For anyone who has been lamenting the loss of Joss Whedon’s best series as we wonder what he’s going to do next, on June 15, 2016, you can return to Sunnydale with a new comic series called Buffy: The High School Years.

It sounds like Season 2 by way of Season 6’s evil Trio, as high-school aged Buffy is pitted against “nerdy vampires.”. And for anyone who considers the comics non-cannon, guess what? Joss Whedon will be their executive producer. So, while it’s not exactly the same as going back to Sunnydale onscreen, we’ll take it.
