'Avengers: Endgame' Leaks: Marvel Star and Director Both Promise Big Payoff

The Avengers cast has managed to keep Endgame spoilers under lock and key, but Chris Pratt can at least guarantee that fans will be satisfied with the upcoming movie. While promoting The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part on Good Morning America, Pratt promised that Avengers: Endgame will exceed fan expectations.

“I am a vault of information that would break the internet… everything it promises in the previous movie, it delivers on and so much more,” he said.

That’s a lot of pressure because Infinity War promised a lot — like defeating Thanos and reuniting the Avengers — but Pratt sounds confident in his spoiler-free promise.

Pratt never denies or confirms whether Star-Lord will appear in Endgame, however. The last time we saw him, the character was fading from existence. But with the news that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is still being made, that’s confirmation enough that we haven’t seen the last of Star-Lord.

Thor: Ragnarok director, Taika Waititi, also echoed Pratt’s promise that fans will be more than satisfied with Avengers: Endgame in an interview with USA Today where he joked about his lack of knowledge on the upcoming movie:

“It wraps up everything in a really great way. It feels like the fans are getting rewarded for hanging around for 10 years and watching all these films. Because the more you know about the characters and the stories and stuff, the more satisfying this film will be.”

Endgame marks the end of an era. As the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to evolve and new superheroes are introduced, this might be the last time this particular group of Avengers all unite onscreen.

After 20 movies, the emotional investment and stakes are high, so these promises might not be enough for fans who are hoping for more information about the fates of fan-favorite characters, storylines, and how Endgame will play into the next phase of the MCU. For now, however, the news that Endgame will meet and even exceed our expectations is the best news we can expect.

Avengers: Endgame is in theaters April 26, 2019.
