This Very Well-Made Deadpool Fan Film Is Baddest Team Up in Marvel History

Deadpool Musical

Even though Deadpool’s whole shtick is to not take anything too seriously, the makers of a new fan film about the Merc With a Mouth certainly did an excellent job making a quality Deadpool short. Deadpool The Musical 2, a follow up to the original fan film from last year, is a high quality romp that might actually deliver on its promise that it’s the “baddest team up in Marvel history.” Actually, it might just be the baddest team up in Disney history.

Much like Deadpool 2, the short finds the Merc With a Mouth looking for a team he can join. However, director/editor Julian Higgins wasn’t limited by licensing rights the way the Fox movie was, so Deadpool gets a chance to fight alongside the X-Men, the Avengers, the Canadian heroes of the Alpha Flight, some characters from Marvel’s Netflix shows, and some other surprising Disney icons.

Deadpool, who is played by somebody with a pretty solid Ryan Reynolds impersonation, is quick to make plenty of meta jokes about these crossovers — one of the best goofs comes when he asks Jubilee which Jubilee she is, since the character is “played by a different Asian actress in every X-Men movie.”

It’s not just an unlicensed Disney spoof just because of all the superheroes, though. As the name suggests, it’s also a musical, parodying songs from Moana, Aladdin, Mulan, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.

And, yes, there are post-credits scenes. The first is a pretty brutal Infinity War joke, the second involves a fleshlight, because Deadpool.

Deadpool 3 may or may not happen, but this fan film ain’t a bad way to quench your Deadpool thirst.
