Why There's No Battle Star for 'Fortnite' Season 4, Week 8

You still have to find those damn gnomes, though.

If you’re a completionist looking to finish the Week 8 challenges in Fortnite, you’re probably also looking around for a hidden battle star. After all, all the previous weeks of Season 4 have had secret battle stars that unlock once you finish all the other challenges.

But this time around, there isn’t. If you’ve been faithfully completing all the challenges from Week 1 to Week 7, then you should’ve received the promised blockbuster skin, The Visitor, already. The loading screen for Week 8 didn’t show a battle star, so it’s safe to assume the remaining weeks won’t, either. After all, the point of the hidden battle stars was to reward players with The Visitor.

However, that doesn’t mean there won’t be another reward down the line. If you stick with the challenges, there might just be a big bonus at the end of the season.

Fortunately, you won’t be alone if you decide to go the whole nine yards. Challenge guide maker Squating Dog released another guide for this week to help you get all your objectives done. I hope you’re into gardening.

Week 8 Challenges

  • Eliminate opponents in Pleasant Park: 0/3
  • Collect treasure: 0/1
  • Open chests in Salty Springs: 0/7
  • Search chests in a single match: 0/7
  • Search hungry gnomes: 0/7
  • Suppressed eliminations: 0/3
  • Headshot damage to opponents: 0/250

As with all the challenge weeks, you have to finish out a game in order to complete a challenge. That means either getting eliminated or winning the match. You don’t want to be the guy who grabs every gnome on the map then logs out, only to find a big 0/7 staring at you from the challenge menu the next time you fire up your game.

Happy hunting. Don’t crap your pants when you hear a gnome — I hear they sound real creepy
