Cher and Donatella Versace may be some of the best-dressed LGBTQ+ allies out there, and they’re proving it by teaming up for a Versace Pride collection. Aptly called “Chersace,” the capsule includes black tees, socks, and caps emblazoned with a rainbow Medusa logo. The clear showstopper, though, is a diamante-embellished tee, priced at a cool $3,350, which proudly reads “Chersace” across its chest.
“Donatella and I have been dear friends for a lifetime,” Cher said in a statement. "It just felt right for our very first collaboration to be one about LGBTQ Pride and celebrating a community that means so incredibly much to both of us. We wanted to make a fun collection supporting a good cause, and we hope you like it.”
All of the capsule’s proceeds will benefit Gender Spectrum, a charity that works to create gender-sensitive and inclusive environments for all children and teens.
Do you believe (in Chersace)?— With luxury and rainbows at the forefront of Chersace, every bit of the collection comes decked out with a metallic rainbow Medusa motif. Socks, baseball caps, and black tees are all adorned with the graphic, as well as Versace branding reimagined to read “Chersace.” Certain pieces, including the hats and T-shirts, also bear signatures from Donatella and Cher.
The allure of the Chersace collection is heightened by a short video on the Versace website, where a model states: “Two icons, both alike in diva energy. In Pride Month, where we celebrate the scene. From long-held friendship to new love and unity. Where Cher and Versace make Chersace.”
Besides the singer’s involvement, however, there’s really nothing special about the Chersace collection — it’s essentially just a bunch of rainbow logos. Yet Versace and Cher did put their own twist on one piece in the capsule, embellishing one tee with a diamante rainbow Medusa logo and bedazzled branding. The overwhelmingly extra T-shirt, which boasts a price tag to match, is fitting for the two stylish legends — as well as for anyone else who can afford to flaunt it.
Pricy and proud — Nearly all of the Chersace collection falls under $500, with the socks coming in the lowest at $125. If you’re wanting to match Cher and Versace in a sparkling Chersace tee though, you’ve got to be willing to pay a price: exactly $3,350. Limited numbers of the shirt, exclusive to the U.S., are available. Don’t wish you had to turn back time.
