Home renovations are rarely ever cheap. Even if you wind up getting a great deal, the time it takes to find a reputable contractor is nothing to overlook — and that isn’t even taking into consideration how long the contractor might take to get the job done. Luckily, there are tons of affordable home upgrades available on Amazon that’ll make your space look so much nicer. And since time is money, I’ve taken the liberty of rounding up some of my favorites for you below — all of which are less than $35.

From chic under-cabinet lights to soft comforters filled with down alternative, I’ve made sure to feature a little something for everybody on this list. If you want to see all of the ways to make your home look nicer, you’ll just have to keep scrolling. Trust me: Those under-cabinet lights are worth it.

01

These storage bags that slide right underneath your bed

Whether you fill these storage bags up with seasonal clothes or bedding is up to you — but either way, they’ll take up hardly any space since they slide right underneath your bed. The reinforced handles are less likely to tear when you’re dragging across the carpet, and the transparent lids make it easy to see what’s inside.

02

The nonslip pads that help keep your furniture in place

Tired of your furniture sliding backward when you sit down? Add these grippers to their legs. They’re made with a combination of non-slip rubber and soft felt, helping keep your furniture in place without leaving any scratches behind. Plus, the adhesive backing means there are no nails or glue required.

03

A bamboo bath mat that brings the spa to you

You have to admit that this bath mat looks like something you’d see in a spa — and now’s your chance to grab it for less than $35. It’s made from sleek bamboo, with a water-resistant finish to keep it looking good regardless of how humid your bathroom gets. Plus, nonslip gaskets on the bottom keep it from shifting out of place.

04

The wireless doorbell that covers up to 1,000 feet

With a wireless range of up to 1,000 feet, this doorbell can be heard throughout your home — or at least on the first floor. It comes pre-loaded with more than 50 chimes, or enough that you can change it every week of the year without repeating. The best part? Batteries also come included and can last for up to three years.

05

A case to keep all those loose batteries organized

Most homes have that one drawer filled with mismatched batteries, and that’s why I’m a huge fan of this case. With space for up to 93 batteries, you can easily use it to keep your AA, AAA, 9-volt, C, and D batteries organized. And since it comes with a battery tester included, you can even check to see if those older batteries are worth keeping around.

06

These LED light bars that work perfectly underneath cabinets

Consider these LED light bars the definition of an affordable home upgrade, as you can easily use them to add chic under-cabinet lighting in your kitchen. Each order includes screws and double-sided adhesive, as well as a remote so that you can control them from afar. Plus, they only need three AA batteries to provide up to 100 hours of light.

07

The grippers that help keep your rugs from curling

Curled rugs can be a safety hazard, so why not secure those corners down with these grippers? They’re completely weatherproof, which means you can use them outdoors as well as inside. And since they have a low profile, it’s unlikely that they’ll snag on opening doors.

08

A clip-on strainer that takes up hardly any space

Unlike that bulky strainer you’ve likely got stashed away in a cabinet, this one is a fraction of its size and takes up hardly any space. Spring-loaded clips on either side allow it to attach to pots and pans of nearly any shape or size — including lipped bowls. One reviewer also wrote, “It fits all my pots from small to huge, even frying pans!”

09

This charging station that helps keep your desk tidy

If your desk has devolved into a mess of charging cables, this charging station can help tidy things up. Each order comes with five shortened cables — two lightning, two micro-USB, and one type-C — so that you aren’t stuck using wires that are too long. And with space for up to five devices, there’s enough room for nearly everybody in the house to charge their phone at the same time.

10

A bamboo cutlery organizer that expands to fit your drawers

There’s nothing wrong with using a plastic cutlery organizer — but if you’re looking for something that’s more customizable, make sure to check out this one that’s made from sleek bamboo. It expands from 13 inches to 20 inches, allowing it to fit in drawers both large and small. Plus, there are more than enough compartments for all your knives, spoons, forks, stirrers, and more.

11

The stainless steel canister that helps keep your coffee fresh

With its built-in date tracker and Co2 release valve, this canister is a must-have if you want to drink the freshest cup of coffee possible every morning. It’s made from sleek stainless steel that shouldn’t rust over time, and each order includes a small scoop. Plus, it also works great with other dry ingredients, including tea, flour, sugar, and more.

12

These velvet-lined hangers that won’t let strappy clothes slide off

Not only are these hangers covered in soft velvet material that gives them a little extra grip, but they’re also extra-thin — which means they’ll take up less space on your closet rod than the hangers you’re likely using now. The best part? The tops swivel 360 degrees so that it’s easy to have all your clothes facing the same direction.

13

The solar pathway lights that are almost too easy to install

Simply press these pathway lights into the ground, and the built-in solar panels will provide all the power they need to brighten up your patio — no complicated wiring required. They’re also weatherproof, waterproof, as well as available in three finishes: black, stainless, or bronze.

14

A French press that’s surprisingly versatile

While this French press is great for making a smooth cup of coffee, you can also use it to juice fresh berries, rinse quinoa, or even strain spinach — it’s that versatile. It also features an ultra-fine filter that helps prevent grounds from leaking into your drink, and each order includes a milk frother to upgrade your morning coffee even further.

15

This comforter filled with soft down alternative

With its soft down-alternative filling, this comforter is suitable for use all year long. Precise stitching and durable hems help keep it looking good through dozens of washes, and the diamond stitching ensures that the filling doesn’t bunch up into the corners. Choose from sizes ranging from twin to California king, as well as nine colors.

16

A cozy wedge pillow that’s lined in breathable fabric

Unlike some wedge pillows, this one is slanted at a 45-degree angle that can help encourage blood flow in your legs. The result? It can help alleviate soreness simply by relaxing on it — and since the cover is made from breathable bamboo fabric, you’re less likely to grow hot while using it.

17

These down-alternative pillows with thousands of positive reviews

With their 250-thread count, 100% cotton cover, and down-alternative filling, it’s no wonder that thousands of Amazon shoppers have left positive four- and five-star reviews for these pillows. They’re also lightweight and breathable — and one reviewer wrote, “All I can say is that I change sleep positions a lot, and this pillow conformed to my head and neck, so I was comfortable no matter what.”

18

The outdoor lights that only glow when someone is around

If you’re looking to add a little extra security to your home, these outdoor lights feature built-in motion sensors so that they automatically turn on when someone enters your yard. They’re also waterproof, weather-resistant, as well as powered by the sun using a solar panel built into the tops — and installation doesn’t require any complicated wiring.

19

A solar-powered pump that turns bird baths into water fountains

There’s no need to spend hundreds of dollars on a water fountain — just grab a cheaper bird bath, then add this pump. Each order includes four different nozzles, allowing you to adjust the pattern in which the water is spouted upwards. And since it’s powered using a solar panel, there’s no need to worry about replacing any batteries.

20

This marker that breathes new life into old grout

When no amount of scrubbing will get your grout looking clean, it might be time to color it white using this marker. It comes with enough ink to cover up to 150 feet of grout — and even though the formula is water-based and nontoxic, many reviewers raved about how it “lasts long.”

21

A smart camera that’s cheaper than a security system

Having a professional security system installed can cost hundreds of dollars, whereas this smart camera is available for less than $40. Night vision and motion detection make it easy to check on your home when you’re away at night, while two-way audio lets you communicate with pets. Plus, it’s even compatible with voice commands when connected to Alexa.

22

These smart bulbs that doesn’t require an extra hub

Unlike some smart products that require an additional hub to work, these bulbs will do just fine without one. You can also change their color and brightness, as well as set them on schedules when paired with Alexa. And if you don’t have Alexa, simply use the downloadable smartphone app to adjust their settings.

23

A smart light switch that you can control remotely

Can’t remember if you turned off your lights? Not a problem when you have this smart light switch. The downloadable smartphone app lets you check whether your lights are on or off, as well as put them on schedules so that they’re on when you come home. Plus, installation doesn’t require any complicated wiring.

24

The pop-up power strip that stays hidden until you need it

If your kitchen could use a few extra outlets, this retractable power strip is a must-have. It stays hidden until you need it, and can be pulled up using the pop-up handle. And unlike some power strips, this one features two USB ports — just in case your phone is running out of battery.

25

A tile backsplash you can stick right into place

Not all homes come with a backsplash already installed — so if you’d like to add one to your kitchen, this peel-and-stick option is incredibly easy to install. Simply peel off the adhesive backing, then stick it right onto your wall. And since the tiles are both moisture- and stain-resistant, you can easily wipe them clean should they ever get dirty.

26

This showerhead that you can set into nearly any position

With 2 feet of vertical movement range, you can easily angle this showerhead however you like. It also comes with a detachable handheld sprayer — and installation is incredibly simple, as no tools are necessary. Plus, the chrome finish makes it look way more expensive than it is.

27

A bidet that’s easy to install & clean

This bidet is seemingly simple to install, as many reviewers were able to get the job done in just a few quick minutes. Its water pressure is easily adjustable using the control panel on the side, and the sprayer even retracts between cleanings in order to help it stay as clean as possible.

28

The aerator that attaches onto your bathroom sink

Whether you’re sipping from the sink or trying to wash out your eyes, this aerator can help angle the flow of water from your faucet so that it’s easier to access. It’s made from a combination of stainless steel and aluminum. Plus, the universal design fits 99% of all standard faucets.

29

An outlet extender with extra space to rest gadgets

Electric toothbrushes, smartphones, television remotes — the shelf on top of this outlet extender is so sturdy that it can hold all of them and more. There are also two extra USB ports so that it’s easy to charge your gadgets without locating a power brick, as well as six plugs in total.

30

This stick that adds streaming to any HD television

As long as you have an internet connection and your television has an HDMI port, you can use this Fire TV stick to stream Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and more — all at the press of a button. The best part? It also has Alexa built into it, allowing you to use voice commands to search across multiple streaming apps.

31

A mount that makes it easy to read your tablet while cooking

Add this mount stand to the underside of one of your kitchen cabinets, and you’ll instantly have a convenient place to rest your tablet when reading recipes or watching cooking videos. It’s compatible with most tablets, including the ninth generation iPad — and the sleek aluminum body isn’t easily damaged.

32

The mat that helps keep your legs from growing sore

Your legs can grow sore when you’re stuck standing at your kitchen counters preparing food, so why not grab this mat? The cushioning helps take the load off your joints, while the waterproof top makes it easy to clean in the event of a spill. Choose from three sizes, as well as five different shades of black.

33

A smart plug that won’t block your outlet

Some smart plugs are bulky, and can wind up blocking parts of your outlet — but not these ones. Their rectangular shape won’t obstruct that second outlet plug. Plus, you can also control them with Alexa, Google Home, or simply using the free downloadable smartphone app.

34

This bedside lamp that lets you charge your phone via USB

Unlike many nightstand lamps, this one features two handy USB ports so that you can charge your phone overnight. Touch controls also let you adjust its brightness up to three levels by tapping anywhere on the base, and each order even includes an LED bulb.

35

A colorful touch lamp that’s perfect for cramped nightstands

Whether you have a small nightstand or your desk is a little cluttered, this LED lamp has a compact footprint that’ll take up hardly any space at all. A few taps on the base are all it takes to adjust the brightness, as well as turn it on or off. And with 13 different LED colors to pick from, setting a relaxing mood after a long day is a total breeze.

36

The pet water fountain with a triple filtration system

Instead of having your pet drink from that bowl, why not make sure they’re getting the freshest water possible with this water fountain? Its triple filtration system uses activated carbon to remove contaminants — and unlike some fountains, this one features an ultra-silent motor so that it won’t disturb you while you’re home.

37

An area rug that’s so, so fluffy & available in tons of colors

Not only is this area rug made from soft shag, but it also comes in a variety of colors to suit any room — white, navy, blush, and more. While it isn’t machine-washable, you can still wash it by hand, or simply give it a good shake outside to get rid of any bits of debris. Plus, many reviewers wrote about how it’s “super soft.”

38

This automatic pet feeder that lasts for up to a full week

Large enough to provide up to a full week’s worth of food, these automatic pet feeders are perfect for any loving pet owner. Non-skid rubber feet help keep them from shifting around while your pet is eating, and both feeders are completely BPA-free.

39

A dispenser that helps keep dry food fresh

Cereal, nuts, candy, rice — you can use this dispenser with all sorts of dry foods, as its airtight lid helps keep everything fresh for up to 45 days. Each handle twist releases 1 ounce of ingredients, and the entire dispenser has over 13,000 five-star ratings.

40

The desktop organizer made from real wood

I’m a huge fan of this organizer, and not just because it’s made from real wood. Multiple shelves give you space for everything from books to gaming systems (I keep my Nintendo Switch on the wider shelf), and you can even adjust the width for narrower spaces. Choose from four finishes: white, black, natural, or white with wood grain.

41

A soap dispenser that helps reduce shower clutter

If your shower has become a cluttered mess of soap bottles, it might be time to transfer them into this dispenser. It features three chambers for body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Installation only takes a few minutes using the included adhesive, and it easily lifts off the wall anytime you need to refill it.

42

These magic erasers that can tackle nearly any mess

Whether you have grime on your stove or permanent marker scribbled across your walls, these magic erasers can help clean everything up. While they’re tough on messes, they shouldn’t leave behind scratches — even on delicate surfaces like marble. Plus, the erasers in this particular pack are extra-thick, allowing them to last longer than many competitors.

43

The static film that adds privacy to your windows

For less than $15, you can add this film to your windows for a little extra privacy. The frosted texture helps keep people from peering into your home, yet still allows light to pass through. Plus, you can easily remove it without having to worry about any leftover sticky residues.

44

A light that makes it easier to navigate your bathroom at night

This toilet night light can help you navigate through your dark bathroom. The motion sensor prevents it from turning on when no one is around, helping preserve the three AAA batteries needed to keep it running. And since it’s water-resistant, there’s no need to worry about how flushing will affect its performance.

45

This lamp that helps you find your keyhole in the dark

Struggling to get your key into that keyhole when it’s dark out? Not a problem — just add this light to your door. Four LED bulbs shine brightly so that it’s easy to unlock your door, and they only need one AA battery to work. Plus, the built-in motion sensor keeps it from turning on when you aren’t around.

46

A sensor that helps you monitor humidity in your home

If your home leans towards the damper side, you might want to consider grabbing this humidity sensor. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth from up to 262 feet away, allowing you to check in on the mildewy basement while you’re sitting high and dry upstairs. Plus, you can even have the app send you notifications when the humidity levels fall out of a certain range.

49

The covers that help stop messes from dripping down your stove

Ever notice how messes can drip down into that space between your stove and your counters? Use these covers to fill that gap, and they’ll help keep cleanup to a minimum.
