This alternate history series brings modern sensibilities to Regency-era drama, making it worth a watch even for those who aren’t fans of other historical fiction.

4. Invisible City (February 5)

2. Love, Death & Robots

This over-the-top anthology explores sci-fi ideas from time travel to AI in gory detail, but its 18 episodes vary wildly in quality, and some come with major content warnings.

1. Black Mirror: "San Junipero"

Black Mirror has been applauded and dunked on in equal measure, but this rare romantic episode from Season 3 is a series high point — and a perfect choice for Valentine’s Day viewing.
