Elden Ring: How to earn rewards from the Four Belfries

Here’s how you should use your Imbued Sword Key in Elden Ring’s Four Belfries location.

Elden Ring is packed with secrets and tough choices, both of which abound at the Four Belfries. Here’s what’s behind the Four Belfries gates.

Reaching the Four Belfries is simple enough. From the Foot of the Four Belfries Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes, simply head northeast to the buildings you can see on your map.

You’ll just have to fight (or avoid) a few spectral Trolls that appear on the path to reach the area.

First off, head to the very top of the hill, where you can find a Site of Grace just left of the highest belfry. Then head to that top belfry to claim an Imbued Sword Key from a chest.

You’ll need the Imbued Sword Key to unlock each of the belfry’s gates, but just like the Stonesword Key, it disappears after a single use.

Here’s what you’ll get from each of the Four Belfries.

1. Precipice of Anticipation

Starting from the Site of Grace at the top of the hill and working down, the first gate you come to is marked Precipice of Anticipation. Heading through the gate will take you to a familiar location.

Tip: The butterflies aren’t worth it.

Across the bridge in front of you, you’ll find a fog gate leading to the Grafted Scion, the boss that probably wiped the floor with you at the very beginning of Elden Ring.

As they say in the Lands Between, time for revenge.

The Grafted Scion shouldn’t give you too much trouble at this point, and your reward is the Ornamental Straight Sword and the Golden Beast Crest Shield.

The Golden Beast Crest Shield is a lighter-than-average Greatshield, but the Ornamental Straight Sword is the real prize.

The Ornamental Straight Sword scales with Strength and Dexterity, and two-handing adds a second off-hand sword. As a pair, they can pull of some impressive attacks that get even better when used with the weapon’s skill, Golden Tempering.

The Precipice of Anticipation gives you a shield and sword you can’t find anywhere else, making it a great use of your Imbued Sword Key.

2. Night Sky Unceasing

The second gate from the top is marked Night Sky Unceasing. It leads you to an otherwise inaccessible part of the mid-game area Nokron, the Eternal City.

You don’t need to fight for your reward here. Just make your way carefully down the rocks and proceed straight through the gate at the bottom.

You’ll find a corpse on a ledge holding the Mottled Necklace, which boosts your Immunity, Robustness, and Focus. That means you’ll be less susceptible to most status effects in Elden Ring.

You can also fight the brutally difficult Crucible Knight here, but there’s no reward other than pride.

The Mottled Necklace is a useful Talisman, but you’ll find an upgraded version in Nokron proper.

3. Crumbling Lands

The belfry at the foot of the hill (marked Crumbling Lands) takes you to a secluded part of Crumbling Farum Azula, an endgame area, with no access to the full zone.

Once you’ve looked around in awe, head down to this floating platform, where you can see two enemies below.

Unless you’re already at endgame level, they hit like trucks, so it’s best to take them out at range if you can.

With the enemies defeated, simply hop down to where they were, then down once more to find the Pearldrake Talisman on a corpse. The Talisman raises all non-physical defenses, but not as much as the Talismans that target one specific defense (e.g., The Flamedrake Talisman).

It can be useful when you’re contending with multiple damage types, or to supplement another Talisman.

If you’re struggling against magic or elemental damage, the Pearldrake Talisman is worth having on hand.
