CES 2023

Hasbro Pulse turned me into a 3D-printed action figure

All it took was a quick scan with my phone camera.

CES 2023 is an endless sea of new gadgets, but one of the coolest we’ve seen so far is actually Hasbro and Formlabs’ 3D action figure printing service, where you can 3D scan your face onto a licensed character of your choice.

The process takes only a few minutes. First, download the Hasbro Pulse app for iOS or Android.

Then it’s just a matter of fitting your face into the on-screen outline and turning left and right once.

Make sure you have good lighting. Formlabs recommended using a ring light for good-quality scanning.

There are actually a ton of customization options, including 50 hair styles.

Choose characters from Power Rangers, Star Wars, Ghostbusters, and more.

When the scan is done, you can select the character you want to 3D print your head onto. Deliveries take 45 days, and Hasbro is currently only shipping in the U.S.

Price and release date

Custom 3D-printed figures start at $59.99.
