Sora's 8 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate' outfits, explained

Sora from Kingdom Hearts has officially joined Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as the final fighter, and just like every other combatant, he comes with 8 different outfits.

Each of Sora’s outfits in Smash Ultimate is a reference to a time period or “Form” from Kingdom Hearts history. Here’s a look at all 8.

Sora’s default outfit is based on his iconic appearance in the first Kingdom Hearts game.

Sora’s next outfit is based on his character design from Kingdom Hearts II, though all alternate skins retain the face and body of Sora from the original Kingdom Hearts.

His third outfit is based on what he wore in Kingdom Hearts’ 3DS spin-off.

Rounding out Sora’s four basic outfits is his Kingdom Hearts III design. But there’s more!

Sora’s most unique outfit comes with special facial expressions. It adapts Sora’s look from the Timeless River level in Kingdom Hearts II, which was based on classic Disney cartoons like Steamboat Willie.

While it has no gameplay effect in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sora could use Valor Form in Kingdom Hearts II to increase his strength, running, and jumping abilities.

This version of Sora is based on a form in Kingdom Hearts II that would strengthen the player’s magic abilities.

Sora’s final outfit is based on his form when wielding the Ultima Weapon Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts III.
