Wearing the Jordan 5 'What The': A mix of greatest hits

Nike celebrates the sneaker's 30th anniversary with a flavorful style.

Like the Air Jordan 1, the AJ5 is one of Nike's most iconic sneakers.

And in 2020, 30 years after the silhouette's debut, the brand is giving sneakerheads a special edition of it called "What The," which mixes colors and materials from some of the best Jordan 5s that have came out over the past few decades.

The Jordan 5 What The combines details from non-OG colors — those that Michael Jordan didn't wear on the NBA court — including the AJ5 "Army Olive," "Green Beam," and "Quai 54."

They also feature embroidered logos that pay homage to the "Shanghai" and "Tokyo" Air Jordan 5s, two super exclusive pairs that sell for thousands of dollars on the secondary market.

Other features you won't want to miss, which are always present on the AJ5, are details like the fighter jet-inspired flames on the midsole.

Then there's the reflective shoe tongue that comes to life every time your camera flash hits it.

1990

The year the Air Jordan 5 was introduced.

The Air Jordan 5 'What The' is set to drop November 12 for $220.

Without a doubt, the AJ5 'What The' will be up there as far as Nike's holiday 2020 launches go, and you'd be a fool to pass on this pair when it hits the SNKRS app.

Not only do they look fantastic on feet, but they're definitely bound to turn a bunch of heads.
