Onyx's iconic RCR e-bike is getting a makeover

The electric café racer of 2020 is getting a few much-needed changes.

Right in the middle

The Onyx RCR is an on- or off-road electric motorbike somewhere between an e-scrambler and a full-sized electric motorcycle. It debuted in 2019 and goes around 60 miles per hour.

Small tweaks, big improvements

Onyx has announced a list of changes to the ONYX RCR going forward. It's not a complete re-think, more like a spate of incremental upgrades.

Onyx RCR core updates:

- Hydraulic forks "for smoother articulation"

- Updated hydraulic brakes

- Smaller controls on the left handlebar

- Reinforced swingarm, now with passenger pegs

- Adjustable seat mounts for better ergonomics

- Plug-and-play wiring harness

- Better display

- New rosewood panels
