Pokémon games rarely innovate, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus introduces 5 features that could change the series forever.

1. It’s an open world!

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is a much more expansive title than previous games in the series, as players will be able to ride, capture, and battle Pokémon across a large world.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus takes place in the Hisui region, which will eventually become Sinnoh. Players will explore quaint grasslands, snowy tundras, and Mt. Coronet.

2. You don’t have to battle a Pokémon to capture them

In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, you must sneak up on Pokémon and throw a Pokéball to capture them.

Each Pokémon will react to the player in unique ways, and some will even attack on sight.

3. Crafting

Players can craft Poké Balls and other items with materials they find in the wild.

Crafting will be useful when you’re in a pinch and need more Poké Balls or healing items.

4. Action Order

Pokémon Legends: Arceus mixes up the classic Pokémon battle formula by introducing an action order.

You can see which Pokémon will attack next on the right side of the screen. Some faster Pokémon can attack twice in a row!

5. Move Styles

Players can choose to use all of their Pokémon’s moves in two different styles: Strong Style and Agile Style.

Strong Style will increase the power of the move but lower the Pokémon’s action speed so they’ll attack less often.

Agile Style will decrease attack power but increase the Pokémon’s action speed so they can attack more frequently.

With these 5 changes, Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be the most innovative new Pokémon game since the series began!
