Thanks to a leaker on Weibo, we might have a better idea of when OnePlus’ anticipated 10 Pro phone is set to launch.

There’s more

Launch info isn’t the only leaked intel we’ve seen. According to GSMArena, a tipster spotted a mysterious OnePlus phone on benchmarking platform, Geekbench. It’s believed that phone, codenamed OnePlus NE2210, is the OnePlus 10 Pro, which is equipped with Snapdragon’s latest 8 Gen 1 chip and Android 12.

According to the report, however, the performance is actually worse than the OnePlus 9 Pro from earlier this year, leading to speculation that the 8 Gen 1 hasn’t yet been optimized for the OnePlus 10 Pro yet.

Another big piece of news from the benchmark: the phone listed has 12GB of RAM, confirming the previous reporting on the OnePlus 10 Pro’s memory capacity.

Faster charging but not fastest

Previously, it was believed that the OnePlus 10 Pro could feature fast charging speeds up to 125W or higher, which is something that OnePlus’ parent company, Oppo, has done on its phones. However, the phone was spotted by 91Mobiles on a 3C certification website with the familiar codename, OnePlus NE2210.

According to the listing, the phone still has an impressive 80W fast charging (faster than the 65W on the OnePlus 9 Pro). Additionally, the phone will reportedly be capable of 50W wireless fast charging. Based on the report, the phone will have a 5,000mAh battery.

China first

The January 11 launch date is for China, but the phone should eventually reach the U.S., though it’s worth noting that last year’s OnePlus 9 Pro base model was delayed and eventually canceled for US customers based on supply chain issues. Hopefully, the company is more prepared this time around.
