No more bad prints

Not knowing how instant snaps will turn out can be charming, but if you’re not into wasting expensive film, the new Instax Mini Evo has your back. Using its display and wireless connectivity, Fujifilma’s new camera lets you choose and edit the image you want to print.

Once you snap a pic that you’re happy with you can print the image by pulling the lever back — a touch reminiscent of old film cameras. The camera also has 10 built-in lenses and 10 filters, which can be applied in combination when shooting images.

Save it

Whether you’re out of film or unsure about printing a certain image, you don’t have to stress. You can save images onto a MicroSD card.

Running out of battery mid-shoot can also be a huge bummer, but the Mini Evo’s rechargeable battery has enough juice for around 100 images.

The Instax Mini Evo also allows you to marry phone and camera. Using the Mini Evo app, you can send images from your device to the camera, allowing you to print high-quality images instantly.

2022

Though the camera is launching in Japan first in December, it won’t come to the states until February of next year. And when it does launch, it won’t be cheap.

Launching alongside the camera is a new Instax Mini stone gray instant film ($15), which has a gray border with a rough, stone-like print.

While not the first instant camera with a digital display, the Instax Mini Evo offers photographers a good blend of analog and digital and components like the print lever or lens dial lend it that analog tactility we’ve all come to miss.
