Can-Am returns to its two-wheeled heritage with new e-motorcycles

The company revealed the design of its off-road and on-road electric motorcycles that will be released in mid-2024

Can-Am

Can-Am is returning to its dirt bike roots, but with a modern twist. The historic brand, known for making competition-level motocross bikes, showed off its two upcoming all-electric motorcycles, the Origin and the Pulse.

CanAm

Over the years, Can-Am kept producing its three- and four-wheeled vehicles, but motorcycles have been missing from its lineup for years.

Now, the brand has two motorcycles in the works. First up, the Can-Am Origin was designed as a tribute to the company’s Track n’ Trail heritage. The Origin is definitely styled and designed for off-roading, but the model works for both trail and street rides.

For those looking for something on-road, there’s the Can-Am Pulse that was designed more for daily commutes.

50th anniversary

Can-Am didn’t reveal any spec sheets for either electric motorcycle, teasing that it will unveil the full specs in August 2023 to coincide with the brand’s 50th anniversary. The only thing we do know is that both the Origin and the Pulse will be powered by the Rotax E-Power tech.

Can-Am

Can-Am did mention that there’ll be high-performance LED headlamps for both models. The two motorcycles will also be easy to ride for both beginners and experienced riders, according to Can-Am.

It’s exciting to see Can-Am go back to its famed history, while also embracing the future that is electric vehicles.

Both of Can-Am’s e-motorcycles look extremely stylish and will likely compete against the likes of Harley Davidson’s LiveWire offshoot and Zero’s electric motorcycles.
