Razer's Hello Kitty gaming chair and headphones are cute overload

The limited-edition gaming gear is really pink, really cute, and the best collab Razer has ever done.

There are few tech reviewers uniquely qualified to fathom how holy Razer x Sanrio’s Hello Kitty gaming gear collab is. I am one of them.

Besides having grown up with copious Hello Kitty stationery because of my two sisters, Sanrio’s famous kitty with no mouth pervades my life.

Exhibit A:

I voluntarily spent way too much money on this Hello Kitty x tokidoki T-shirt at a comic con.

Exhibit B:

My sisters and I are self-proclaimed Hello Kitty diehards. We are real suckers for anything with Hello Kitty slapped on it even when we know we’re paying extra for the cat in pink. Here, my sisters somehow convinced me to buy these cakes and cookies.

Exhibit C:

My first time in Seoul, the very first place I visited was the Hello Kitty Café. No joke!

So about the Hello Kitty Iskur X gaming chair. It’s a gaming chair for sure and very pink. It’s a much larger chair than I thought it would be. I had no idea gaming chairs were so big. This thing is larger than most car seats.

The gaming chair has the same material and features as the regular Iskur X, meaning the same synthetic leather and solid stitching. Obviously, there’s the Hello Kitty and Sanrio friends slapped all over it.

How long it took me to assemble the gaming chair.

The instructions are printed on this massive sheet of paper.

Careful screwing in these panels. They’re plastic and I stripped one of the holes tightening the screw too deep. These plastic side covers bolt over the screws to cover them.

The lumbar cushion is made of a memory foam and the cover is velvety. It’s sold separately for $60. I wish it was included with the gaming chair. Without it, you’ll sit deeper, but this thing will save your back.

The stitching is really well done.

There’s even a Hello Kitty bow and rainbow stitched into the seat. Most importantly, the chair is comfy.

Gotta have the Razer tagline stitched in, too.

The base feels high quality and the wheels are smooth.

Then, there’s the Hello Kitty version of the Kraken BT headphones.

These aren’t just cat ear-style headphones. There’s Hello Kitty’s iconic bow on the headband along with prints inside and outside of the band, and its face on the ear cups. Nice branding touches.

The only downside IMO is the Micro-USB port for charging. No USB-C? Ugh.

I’m no uWu girl, but I think I can pull this off.

Hello Kitty is dope — it’s for everyone. What used to be “girlie” is now an iconic cultural mascot — a legend like Mickey Mouse, Pikachu, and Mario. To get Hello Kitty on Razer products (of all brands) is major and shows how mainstream gaming has become. The special HK Razer gear costs a small premium over the regular products, but who wants to be ordinary?
