CES 2021

Razer made a cyberpunk N95 mask complete with voice amplifier and RGBs

The smart mask, known as "Project Hazel," is perfect for partying during the pandemic. Or just socializing or whatever.

CES 2021 is filled with imaginative concepts like digital scrolls, rollable phones, and cute robots. And now you can add Project Hazel, what gaming brand Razer calls the "world's smartest face mask" to the growing list.

Project Hazel is an N95 medical-grade respirator designed with breathability in mind. Unlike a regular N95 mask, which provides more protection than a surgical or cloth mask but is more difficult to breathe in, Project Hazel has "detachable and rechargeable active ventilators and Smart Pods" for easier breathing.

Razer says it intentionally made the Project Hazel mask transparent to allow people to express facial cues like smiles and laughs.

Comfort is super important when it comes to a mask. Project hazel has adjustable earloops as well as a silicone guard for a secure seal.

The smart mask also features an amplification system to enhance our voice.

Lights up in the dark

Razer products are well known for their use of RGBs. The mask has a built-in lighting system that automatically turns lights up in two zones in your choice of 16.8 million colors and effects and automatically turns on when it's dark. Would be hot for a rave, too (whenever those are safe to happen again).

“Project Hazel will be foundational to Razer’s ongoing support and commitment to public health and safety within the community.”

This case is slick.

It also cleans the mask as well using UV light.

Razer's smart mask sounds silly at first. But if you think about it, it could become mandatory for events like eSports, where players sit in close proximity. Not to mention, it'd be practical for attending any live events.

Razer

The only thing Razer has to do is actually produce the Project Hazel masks. Razer's track record turning its CES concepts into commercial products is not exactly great. No word on how much it'd cost. But Razer did tell us it's "coming soon."
