Asus’ new Vivobook Slates are a pop art explosion

The company is releasing two versions of its Surface Pro-inspired Vivobook 13 Slate OLED laptop with some absolutely ridiculous designs from artists Steve Harrington and Philip Colbert.

For anyone lamenting the boring, silver, and gray state of personal computer design, Asus has the antidote.

Two limited-edition versions of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED editions with some out-there pop art designs.

Asus brought in two artists, Steve Harrington and Philip Colbert, and basically set them loose on every aspect of the Vivobook 13 Slate OLED, from the packaging to cases, to the device itself.

The results are pretty weird and pretty great. Even if the device itself is less powerful.

The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate Steve Harrington Edition is the more over-the-top of the two, with palm trees, sneaker-wearing dogs, planets, and spaceships all over the place.

The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate Philip Colbert Editions meanwhile, goes all-in on yellow, eggs, and lobsters. Including a lobster stylus holder.

The internals in the Vivobook 13 Slate, besides the 1080p OLED screen, are pretty limited:

  • Intel Pentium Silver N600 chip
  • Up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM
  • Up to 256GB of SSD storage
  • 2x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports
  • 3.5mm audio jack
  • microSD card reader
  • 50Wh battery

The Asus Vivobook 13 Slate OLED Limited Artist Editions don’t have announced prices.

They’re slated to ship in Q2 of this year.
