r/Place is a crowd-sourced digital canvas that was first conceived on April Fools Day 2017, by Josh Wardle (creator of Wordle). After a five-year hiatus, the project was recently revived so redditors could take turns turning transforming a digital canvas into something personal.


As you can imagine, things got pretty wild...

Without a single person or group able to spam designs, communication and collaboration become instrumental to the process. Users are only able to alter one pixel every five minutes.
