Did you all forget that Ryan Reynolds (and not Danny Devito) is voicing Pikachu in the live-action movie POKÉMON Detective Pikachu? Well, he is, and there is an honest to goodness trailer to prove it. Also, there are like five characters from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate in the film, if you want to be technical about it.

On Monday, Warner Bros. surprised the internet with the trailer for POKÉMON Detective Pikachu, an actual movie that will be released in 2019. Set in the fictional Ryme City, Detective Pikachu focuses on a teenaged boy (Justice Smith) that teams up with a talking Pikachu in a Sherlock Holmes hat to solve the mystery of his father’s disappearance.

The movie is based on the 2016 video game Detective Pikachu in which the electric yellow mouse takes up a side gig as a P.I., and it’s inexplicably the first live-action Pokémon movie the world will ever see.

While Detective Pikachu is jaw-dropping in its portrayal of fuzzy CGI Pokémon living alongside actual human characters, the film does contain appearances of several Pokémon fans will get to play as in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Charizard, Jigglypuff, Squirtle, and Greninja all make appearances in the movie in some fashion. We also see Mr. Mime (who isn’t in Smash), along with a squad of Bulbasaurs, who appear in the game as their evolved form, Ivysaur.

In addition to the trailer, Warner Bros. released a nifty poster, which you can see below.
