Gasp, 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Will Have Post-Credit Scenes

Folks, if you’re not sitting down, you might want to find a seat before reading the rest of this article, because the revelations contained within are truly shocking. Okay. Are you read? Here it goes:

Spider-Man: Homecoming will have post-credits scenes.

Hard to believe, I know, but the latest Marvel movie will follow the trend of the 15 movies that came before it and include extra scenes during and after the end credits that preview upcoming films and make cute, Easter egg-filled jokes.

Director Jon Watts told the world about the big news during a talk at the Supanova Comic-Con in Sydney via Skype. According to attendees, he said that Homecoming has multiple post-credits scenes that are “worth sticking around for.”

Ever since Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury emerged from the shadows with talk of an “Avengers Initiative,” MCU films have capped off with a post-credits scene that sets up the next movie in the increasingly massive franchise. Eventually, most movies grew to have two scenes, one in the middle of the credits and a stinger at the end. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 took things to a whole new level, however, boasting five post-credits scenes. (In practice, this wasn’t as crazy as it sounds on paper, since they were pretty well integrated into the credits.)

We’ll know soon enough if Homecoming tops Vol. 2, when it hits theaters on July 7. Make sure to stay until the very end, duh.
