'Guardians of the Galaxy' Game Looks Dope as Hell

“Well, this is the slowest elevator in the universe,” Star-Lord tells his team in the new trailer for Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series. “You cannot possibly know that,” Drax says, as literal and dry as ever. Though Star-Lord and Drax’s faces are slimmer than their counterparts in the MCU, and though they’re not voiced by Chris Pratt and Dave Bautista, the Guardians are just as funny and memorable in their first video game as they are on the big screen.

The Guardians in Marvel's 'Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series'

Telltale, the creative company pumping out the best Batman and Walking Dead stories in gaming, will launch its first playable Marvel story in April. We don’t know which Guardian we’ll follow throughout the story, though the game’s first trailer focuses tightly enough on Star-Lord that he’s likely our hero. Bright spots in the game are sure to include conversing with Groot, deciding which of Rocket’s dastardly plans to implement, and arguing with Thanos.

The Infinity War villain and Gamora’s adoptive, ex-communicated father shows up at the end of the trailer to make trouble for our heroes. You can watch the full trailer here:

Telltale’s Guardians of the Galaxy Episode 1, “Tangled Up in Blue,” hits stores April 18.
