We Know a Little More About the Supergirl and Flash Musical

Screen Rant

The upcoming Supergirl and Flash musical crossover episode is going all-in on singing, as you might expect, and on Friday, DC announced just who is going to be singing.

Per the DC Comics blog:

Episode #317 of The Flash, entitled “Duet,” will be directed by Dermott Downs and is highlighted by singing performances from Grant Gustin, Melissa Benoist, Jesse L. Martin, Victor Garber, Carlos Valdes, Jeremy Jordan, and John Barrowman, while also including non-singing guest star appearances from Supergirls David Harewood and Chris Wood.

The episodes will air on March 20 and 21.

That translates to all of the following characters performing some super-powered tunes: Barry Allen/the Flash, Kara Danvers/Supergirl, Joe West, Professor Martin Stein, Cisco Ramon, Winn Schott, and Malcolm Merlyn. Hank Henshaw/the Martian Manhunter and Mon-El are the two appearing in “non-singing guest star appearances.”

While it was always obvious that Barry and Kara would be at the center flexing their singing street cred from their time co-starring on Glee, the rest of the singing lineup was unclear. Granted, fans had their suspicions that these many characters might be included, based on the singing pedigree in the casts of both shows.

Both Joe West and Cisco Ramon consistently star in each episode of The Flash, as is the case with Winn on Supergirl, but seeing Professor Stein and Merlyn pop up comes as a bit of a surprise.

Malcolm Merlyn is currently wreaking havoc on Legends of Tomorrow as part of the Legion of Doom, causing problems for Stein and the rest of the Waverider crew. Sure, they’re both in Earth-1, but they’re also both actively traveling about time. And, Stein being one-half of the Firestorm combo means that Jefferson Jackson will almost certainly also make an appearance.
