Chewbacca Rips Off an Arm in 'Force Awakens' Deleted Scene

Han Solo once said, “It’s not wise to upset a Wookiee” — because they “pull people’s arms from their sockets when they lose.” And now it looks like Chewbacca definitely used this famous tactic when dealing with Unkar Plutt. An extended deleted scene from Star Wars: The Force Awakens has just surfaced which actually depicts Unkar Plutt’s arm being torn off completely.

Back in October 2016, a partial version of this scene surfaced online but stopped short of showing the exact moment when Chewbacca actually pulled Unkar Plutt’s arm from its socket. But now, YouTube channel Trailers and BTS has posted the scene in all its glory. Notably, as per Star Wars tradition, though a limb is severed here, there is zero blood spilled. With the exception of Obi-Wan cutting off Ponda Boba’s arm in the first film, and Luke slicing off the Wampa’s arm in The Empire Strikes Back, the act of “disarming” in Star Wars oddly occurs without blood. But maybe Unkar Plutt had a robot arm? Since it’s not actually scientifically possible for Chewbacca to do this, a fake arm seems like a more viable explanation. It certainly doesn’t look real when Chewie drops that arm on the table.
