'Cloverfield 5' May Already Exist and Have a 'Star Wars' Connection

There may already be another Cloverfield sequel out there, and it’s possible it’s been lurking around since 2016 and will star a very familiar face. Daisy Ridley could be the focus of Cloverfield 5, which is also known as a movie called “Kolma.”

On Wednesday, Screen Rant pointed out that back in 2016, J.J. Abrams began pre-produciton on a film called Kolma, with Daisy Ridley attached as one of the movie’s stars. Since then, though, we haven’t heard much. Though, there is a WWII movie coming in Ocboter 2018 called Overlord, which has been confirmed as a kind of prequel to Cloverfield. So, that’s Cloverfields 1-4. What would Kolma be about, and would it really be a Cloverfield movie?

It’s tough to say at this point. Just because J.J. Abrams is doing something with Daisy Ridley doesn’t mean it’s a Cloverfield movie. And considering that The Cloverfield Paradox was seemingly switched to a Netflix-only release at the last second, and got pretty bad reviews, Abrams might not be excited to pony up and work on Kolma.

Still, Daisy Ridley clearly loves working with J.J. Abrams. The actress reportedly cried tears of joy when she found out he was coming back to direct Star Wars: Episode IX.

But, maybe Kolma isn’t actually a Cloverfield movie. Reportedly, the movie is about a young girl who comes back to life for only one day after dying in a car accident. So, while it has a speculative element that could be shoehorned into the Cloverfield universe, it’s by no means a slam-dunk obvious connection. Right now, Abrams and Ridley have to finish Episode IX before anything else happens, Cloverfield related or otherwise.

The next Cloverfield movie, Overlord, is out October 26, 2018. The Cloverfield Paradox is streaming now on Netflix.

Finally, there’s some legitimately good news about production on Rick and Morty Season 4. Animation has officially begun, though that also means the release date probably won’t arrive for half a year or more.

Rick and Morty’s animation supervisor Eric Bofa Nfon tweeted last Friday about a “Casual meeting,” saying in the tweet that it was his “First week back!” Nfon included the hashtag “#RaM4,” clearly referencing Rick and Morty Season 4. There’s also an Emmy award sitting on the table, no doubt because the show won an Emmy for Season 3’s “Pickle Rick” last year.

One of Spider-Man’s lesser-known enemies is hitting the big screen, which is actually kind of a problem. In Spider-Man: Far From Home, we’ll again see Tom Holland as the hero, forced to team up with Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio, who audiences got their first glimpse of in a trailer released on Tuesday. Because of Mysterio’s mastery over illusions, potentially anything in the trailer could be called into question. Even returning characters like Nick Fury.

Spider-Man has a big fan in Flash Thompson. Unfortunately, Flash also makes Peter Parker’s life a living hell, and the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home really delivers on this dichotomy with a great gag that pays homage to the Flash Thompson from the Spider-Man comics.

On Tuesday, Marvel film star Tom Holland premiered the trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which Peter Parker embarks on a vacation to Europe but is recruited by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) for a very special mission.

Video game developer Epic Games structures seasonal gameplay for Fortnite: Battle Royale around the actual seasons of the year. Winter has already come, but before long Season 8 will cue spring.

Each season has around 10 official weeks of challenges with at least an extra week at the end. These many challenges offer players a chance to earn rewards throughout the season, and they carry over their rewards when the whole process restarts each season.

You’re driving alone down a dirt road, and you’re falling asleep at the wheel. Suddenly, a burst of light streaks across the sky — there’s a floating, flat shape in the air right in front of your truck, and though it soared quickly into view, it seems to have stopped completely. A beam of light shoots out from underneath the craft, and a little man with huge eyes, an enormous head, and a tiny body appears in the middle of the road. He doesn’t want to hurt you; he just wants to stick a probe in your nasal cavity.
